On May 26, a delegation from Lijing Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. of Jiangxi Province (hereinafter referred to as “Lijing Semiconductor”) visited Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone in Jiangsu Province for special negotiations on the company’s financing implementation and industrial cooperation. Relevant leaders of Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, together with heads of the Investment Promotion and Industrial Investment Departments, extended a warm reception and attended the forum.
During the forum, Mr. Zhou, a senior executive of Lijing Semiconductor, elaborated on the company’s core technological strengths, progress in product R&D and future development roadmap. He stated that Lijing Semiconductor specializes in general semiconductor intelligent equipment and boasts a core technical team recruited from South Korea. To date, the company has delivered a total of 691 liquid crystal panel handling robots and over 290 semiconductor wafer handling robots/EFEM systems, whose performance has been fully validated by leading panel and wafer manufacturers. Currently in a critical phase of capacity ramp-up and market expansion, the enterprise is in urgent need of strategic investment to accelerate its industrialization drive.
Leaders of Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone spoke highly of the technical prowess and promising prospects of the Lijing Semiconductor team. Both sides held in-depth exchanges on cooperation details including rent-free factory premises and investment from government industrial funds, reaching preliminary consensus.

Profile of Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone

Located in the southeast of downtown Yancheng, the zone was founded in 1992 and upgraded to a national-level economic and technological development zone with the approval of the State Council in 2010. It serves as Yancheng’s pivotal platform for opening-up, a hub for major industrial projects and a new highland for featured industries.

Four National-Level Honorary Titles

The development zone holds four prestigious national-level accreditations: China (Yancheng) South Korea Industrial Park, National Economic and Technological Development Zone, National Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and National Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone. It has also been designated as a National Eco-industrial Demonstration Park and National Green Industrial Park. Ranked among China’s Top 100 Industrial Parks, it is a National Intellectual Property Pilot and Demonstration Park as well as a National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrade Base. It has successively been honored as an Advanced Development Zone of Jiangsu Province, one of the province’s first batch of international cooperation parks, and the Jiangsu Demonstration Park for China-Japan-ROK Industrial Cooperation.

Robust Industrial Foundation with 100-Billion-Yuan Industrial Clusters

The zone prioritizes three pillar industries: automobiles, crystalline silicon photovoltaics and power batteries, with a combined industrial output exceeding 100 billion yuan.
  • Automotive Industry: Home to 5 complete vehicle manufacturers including Yueda Kia and FAW Yueda, alongside over 400 auto parts suppliers, the sector generates an output value of over 50 billion yuan and has built an automotive industrial city along China’s eastern coast.
  • Crystalline Silicon Photovoltaic Industry: Eight top-10 global photovoltaic enterprises such as Tongwei, Trina Solar, Runyang and Canadian Solar have settled here, with a production capacity of 46.2GW solar cells and 64GW photovoltaic modules. It stands as the world’s largest photovoltaic manufacturing base, earning the industry-wide consensus that “Yancheng leads global photovoltaic manufacturing”.
  • Power Battery Industry: Centered on building a 100-billion-yuan SK industrial cluster, the zone has attracted 24 enterprises led by SK On, with a total production capacity of 63.5GWh. The SK power battery project ranks among Jiangsu’s largest foreign investment projects in recent years.
An innovative modern industrial system focused on new energy, new materials, advanced technologies and innovative business models is taking shape at an accelerated pace.

Unmatched Opening-up Edge & Convenient Transportation

Situated at the intersection of two national strategies — Jiangsu Coastal Development and the Integrated Development of the Yangtze River Delta, the zone enjoys seamless transport access: expressways, high-speed railways and airports are all reachable within 10 minutes, while the port is a 40-minute drive away.
It houses more than 8,000 enterprises of various types, including 15 Fortune Global 500 subsidiaries such as Kia, SK and Mobis from the Republic of Korea, Dana from the United States, Faurecia from France and Leapmotor from Japan. Cumulative actual foreign investment has surpassed USD 8 billion, with annual import and export volume consistently topping USD 6.5 billion over the past two years. It is one of Jiangsu’s regions with the densest concentration of South Korean-invested enterprises.

Generous Incentives & Premium Business Environment

Since 2026, Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone has adhered to its positioning as “a pioneer zone for major projects, a demonstration zone for opening-up and a vanguard for institutional innovation”, continuously upgrading its business climate. It provides full-life-cycle support for tech innovation enterprises covering financial backing and commercialization of research achievements, rolling out a suite of preferential policies for talent recruitment, industrial carrier construction and tech-focused investment promotion, alongside one-stop services for settled enterprises.

Innovation Off-site Parks Fuel Collaborative Innovation

The zone has established the Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone (Shanghai) Science and Innovation Center. Focused on pillar industries including automobiles, crystalline silicon photovoltaics and electronic information, the center delivers all-round services featuring “off-site R&D and incubation + industrialized manufacturing in Yancheng”. Proactively integrated into the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy, it precisely undertakes spillover scientific and industrial resources from the delta.
Currently, Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone is actively planning forward-looking industries including third-generation semiconductors, high-end equipment and artificial intelligence to foster new quality productive forces. Lijing Semiconductor’s technical accumulation and industrialization experience in general semiconductor intelligent equipment align perfectly with the zone’s industrial development blueprint. This negotiation marks a major milestone in Lijing Semiconductor’s financing drive.
During the forum, Mr. Zhou detailed Lijing Semiconductor’s core technological advantages and growth prospects. Leaders of Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone voiced full recognition of the company’s development model featuring “South Korean core technologies + Ganzhou manufacturing + domestic substitution”. The Yancheng side pledged full support for Lijing Semiconductor’s settlement and development in the zone, offering comprehensive policy services to help the enterprise rapidly scale up mass production.
Executives of Lijing Semiconductor expressed gratitude for the warm reception and efficient pragmatic communication extended by the zone, and invited local officials to conduct an on-site inspection of the company’s existing R&D base and production lines in Ganzhou in the near future.
Moving forward, both parties will set up a special liaison mechanism to expedite the refinement and signing of cooperation agreements, striving for the early launch of the project. Together, they aim to forge a new benchmark for the domestic substitution of high-end general semiconductor equipment.
